Connect is looking for a CWI for one of our top manufacturing clients!
Starting pay at $27/hr
Position Scope:
•Possess extensive knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored welding.
•Demonstrate familiarity with welding codes, standards, inspection criteria, and safety protocols.
•Design, deliver, and evaluate lesson plans, exercises, and exams tailored to develop trainee proficiency.
•Assist in developing new courses and programs, regularly reviewing course feedback for improvement.
•Create an engaging and productive classroom environment, administering evaluations to track progress.
•Maintain detailed records of trainee assessments and monitor individual progress closely.
•Organize and manage lab supplies and equipment to ensure welding lab readiness and perform basic maintenance.
•Coordinate training efforts with training and production teams for cohesive instruction.
•Regularly review and update course materials, textbooks, and procedures to comply with OSHA and industry standards.
•Administer pre- and post-assessment tests to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
Education and Experience Requirements
•Certified Welding Educator (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS), with proof of certification required.
•High school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 5 years of recent welding experience.
•At least 2 years of experience as an arc welding instructor.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in either teaching or industry training, or a combination of college-level instruction and industry training experience (substitutable on a year-for-year basis for recent welding field experience).
•Proficient in teaching blueprint reading and material layout skills.
•Ability to produce detailed, accurate reports on inspection conditions and outcome
