Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities

Shipment Processing and Documentation: Prepare, verify, and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Routing Coordination: Utilize routing guides to determine optimal shipping routes, assign freight to drivers, and coordinate pickup and delivery schedules.

Driver Communication: Liaise with drivers to provide routing instructions, confirm schedules, and address any issues or delays during transit.

Computer Work: Use logistics software and systems to input shipment details, track freight, and generate reports. Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) for data entry and documentation.

Email Communication: Manage email correspondence with customers, carriers, and internal teams to confirm shipment details, resolve discrepancies, and provide updates.

Bilingual Communication (Preferred): Communicate effectively in English and a second language (e.g., Spanish) to interact with diverse customers, drivers, and stakeholders, as needed.

Physical Tasks: Perform physical activities, including walking and standing, to retrieve documents, deliver paperwork to warehouse staff, or inspect freight in the terminal.

Schedule Management: Monitor and update shipment schedules to ensure timely pickups and deliveries, adjusting plans as needed to accommodate changes or delays.

Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all documentation and routing decisions comply with company policies, customer requirements, and federal/state regulations (e.g., DOT regulations).

Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, routing, and delivery timelines, maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

All other duties and responsibilities assigned to as needed.
Physical Requirements

Ability to walk and stand for short periods (up to 4-5 hours daily) within the terminal or warehouse.

Prolonged periods of sitting or standing for computer-based tasks (up to 6-8 hours daily).

Being able to lift 50 LBs
Skills and Qualifications

Familiarity with Bills of Lading (BOLs), routing guides, and transportation schedules.

Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish) is a plus.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
